I have been in practice since 1997 working with adults, adolescents, couples and families to help them access their inner strengths and achieve lasting change. My approach to therapy is strength based, and I work collaboratively with my clients, helping them identify their own goals for treatment and guiding them towards achievement of these goals. I work with a wide variety of clients who present with various issues: depression, anxiety, somatic complaints, grief and loss, adjustment to change, past trauma or relationship difficulties.
I use an integrative therapeutic approach, which is a blend of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy. Being trained in clinical hypnosis, I utilize self-hypnosis, guided imagery and relaxation training to help patients cope with their presenting issues, learn self-regulation and stress management skills.
I also have extensive experience working with couples struggling with communication issues due to different religious, cultural and sometimes language backgrounds. Proficient in Russian and English, I have helped many multicultural couples, and families who adopt children from Eastern Europe, providing them with tools to improve communication and promote attachment, as well as helping with the process of adjustment.
